  1. This is really interesting about Coach Nick. I see Coach Nick sometimes around the school gym using the treadmill while I am lifting weights on certain days. I am amamzed that he lead many athletes to the right path and had his basketball team leading to state championships. That is one talented man. Coach Nick does many accomplisments that it makes me inspired to do many challenges and dedicate myself to train harder and improve. I love the school gym because it is flexible and the trainers give advice for certain exercises and nutruition and it makes me want to work my way to get the results I want to have. I think if I had any questions or tips when I am working out, I would ask Coach Nick for tips. Who knows? He might have the answers that I am looking for.

  3. I am playing indoor soccer in that building every other day. I knew it is the Jets teams’ house but did not know there is such a man behind what we have now. I bow to you Coach Gehler for what you have done and doing. When you set a goal for yourself and you achieve that you are the first one how is proud of you along as others. As I read basketball team had big improvement since he took over and we are thankful for it. We do have but we need more men like him in our college to help us to accomplish more. Let’s do it.

  5. Wow! I had no idea that we had such a great contributer to Miramar College on and off the court! Coach Gehler is pretty impressive with his track record he sure knows what he's doing. I glad you informed me about Gehlers' lead contribution to the Field-House, He is apart of the schools history and he's only been here for about 8 years! He helped built the 54,000 sqf. multi-sports complex! Before I read this article I didn't know that that we even had a basketball team, let alone a state of the art facility. He put together a nice season going 12-14 ending the year with a win against Mesa! We're lucky to have Coach Gehler apart of Miramar! #soaring#jets#sports

  6. This was a great article. I honestly didn't even know that Miramar had any sports teams. The coach seems like a really caring person. Also, he seems like a great coach because, his team went from 5 wins to 20 wins .I've never been to the gym, but it sounds like a great facility. All people associated with Miramar college should be very grateful to have such a wonderful man apart of our staff. Because, we have a small school so we need all the help and expertise we can get. This man has only been here for eight years and in my eyes, he's already a legend.

I especially liked the part that talked about the basketball program. I am a huge fan of basketball and found it very intersting. It seems that from reading the opinions of other students in the article, people really seem to enjoy the many uses of it.

  11. It is like getting to know a person you never even knew. I like how the coach spent 5 seasons rebuilding the basketball team in Imperial Valley. That is very nice how he spent the time and really changed many children’s lives. All those players probably did way better in basketball even though it took away from their summers it was worth it. What this coach did made a difference in not only the kids but for him too. He was named the coach of the year. I really like the idea about the Fieldhouse seems like it is doing good for our school too. Wow I also like that the facility has a lot for us students. Great article is showed me someone I didn’t know and gave me more information about the school I am going to!

  17. Coach Nick turned out be a great coach after being successful at Palomar College. I love the fact that he didn’t give up on his career and was motivated enough to stick to the direction he decided to take in his life; it’s a testimony. Being able to instill wisdom of the game and knowledge of how to truly play basketball to young individuals must have been a dream come to true to him as he transitioned to head coach. From the sounds of this awesome article, it is apparent the great length one man took in order to create such an amazing background and career. Coach Nick is a great individual.
